I was that age too once...
I bought my 87 TII when I was only 15. My dad used to let me take it out and drive it by myself very seldomly (But I live very much in the country in PA where there's a lot of feilds and a lot of amish). I'm now 20 years old, nowhere near a driving guru. But I agree I wouldn't work on making your car fast just yet. I'd seriously be working on your skills as a driver. Although I've never done it Evil has it right about particapating in Auto X events. I have never had an accident in my TII but in my area I'm lucky seeing as how the number of white tail deer seem to outnumber the amount of people (especially at night). You need to learn to respect the speed of your rotary the way it is. But that just my opinion take it as you will.
On the other hand I'm glad to see Steve's Dog with a rotary rather than a 8v gas hog or a civic. Just take good care of it dude.

the first thing i do when i get a new car is go out to my favorite open parking lot at night and get a good feel for the car, both in grip and drift styles. most all my friends have been in 2 or more accidents that were their fault. i guess i only say im a good driver since ive never gotten a moving violation or been in an accident... compared to my friends, IM GOD! lol
supras and 300zx's are cool and all but they are freakin heavy! i have a 69 camaro, and its almost the freakin same curb weight as a 300 zx twin turbo. ughh. i can feel the weight holding me back even with all that freakin torque. Im going ROTARY!

whats the deal with these cosmos and 3 rotor engines?
ALSO what goood does rebuilding your engine do if your dont port it (or is that what rebuilding it means)?
i have also always liked mr2's. the newer ones, but not the newest, you know, the first change they made to it.......the looks, in the 90's......that one! they're light. and pretty fast from what ive seen.
but everyone says they look girly. i admit the old old ones do, but not after that

15 year olds who speed with poles and stuff to turn fast that know there physics... So how is physics going to help you (assuming you actually know it) when you have to make a split second decision...
anyways im done now, my best advise. Use the "search" and start researching on here. People will show you alot more respect when you know what some performance components are, and maybe then you wont be having to ask what makes a car go faster, you'll know because you did the research yourself. Then you can go tell daddy what you learnt at rx7club school

You need to get your license first before you begin to think about building a performance car.
This is all a joke right? I mean, the kid's putting you all on and you're pretending to buy into it or are you seriously in deep thought over his useless questions? Look at his other posts for example, they are all childish and somewhat sarcastic, and this one is not much different. So stop wasting your time and help the fellas who really need it. Thanks.
i need help, sarcasm is just in my nature. plus, you guys need to lighten up...all i want to do i have fun in my car, and you're trying to tell me to, not have fun? im not going to be a TOTAL idiot, and i'll try to not break the law, but still, lighten up people.
Ive been driving a lot and i havent gotten close to a wreck that was my fault. its just the rude old ladys that dont follow the rules. but enough meaningless random statment...
rotax, you sound like an antisocial whiny bitch, i just want some advise becuase im new at this, and very curious

Rotax shows intelligence and most likely would like to see a thread and come out of it with something like myself, you my friend are the reason why it takes most of us 15 minutes to find a thread we want
like this:
the shift **** i have now makes the "throw" or what ever about 4.5", because i took the little piece under the original shift **** off. about how long would the shift be if i got a short throw shifter?

Bloomington isn't the best of places to be speeding around in, those cops are asses. Anyway, as was suggested, your best bet at the moment is a complete tune-up. You said yourself you're a broke kid, and well, that's the best thing you can do with your money at the moment. Once you get some more, invest in complete exhaust and an intake.

holy ****.
i cant believe i just read that....
why the **** would you drive like that if you "dont doubt" you'll get in a wreck? god damn im glad i dont live near you...please dont ever drive on the street again untill you are sure you are mature enough to keep out of trouble. for the time being keep off the road an stick to the large parking lots for practice. maybe even attend some autoX to get your shitty driving in control
thank you for your time
im going to go kill some 15 year olds now
