What are you doing driving at age 15? The last thing I would want to see is a 15 year old driver driving as fast as he can!

Ever think about carting?

Since I was pretty much broke when I was your age, I'm going to give you a hint based on my experience: Don't add any performance items until the original part needs to be replaced. For example, when the clutch fails, then you can add a lightweight flywheel and performance clutch and pressure plate if you like. When the engine needs a rebuild, then you can get it street ported for only about 10% more than the cost of the rebuild.

Exhaust is going to be your best bang for the buck. A catback would help, but a full exhaust with a header would be better.

Synthetic transmission and differential oil are also excellent additions to the RX-7. The oil only needs to be changed every 30,000 - 60,000 miles for a street car, so it's not that expensive over the long run. I prefer Red Line, but other brands are also good. Mobil 1 isn't so great, though.

Don't waste your money on synthetic engine oil, as this is too expensive to replace every 3,000 miles for the small advantages it gives you. Also don't waste your money on super unleaded fuel unless you are having pinging problems with 87 octane.

Other than that, just keep the car in good shape. Fresh engine oil (change every 3,000 miles), good sparkplugs and wires, a clean fuel filter and air filter, etc., will add more horsepower than you may realize. See the front of the factory service manual for inspection and replacement intervals.

Once you are old enough, you may also want to consider participating in your local SCCA autocross events. The entry fee is only about $20 per event, and you will learn valuable driving skills so that you become a better and safer driver. Many people try to go faster by putting more money and parts into their car, when in fact their driving skill (or lack thereof) it what is really making them slow.

Throw in a 200 shot of NAWS and hit the button. haha, j/k. Invest in a header, you already removed cats so that part is taken care of. Could remove intake manifold and do a little bit of port/polish work on it, fairly easy and free to do it yourself other then buying new gaskets. Can buy 6 port sleeves from Pineapple racing, they are not too pricey and add (from what I've heard) about 5-10HP or so. I dunno, yeah use the search function and just find things, look in peoples sigs and see what they have done to their cars and get ideas from that.

Seriously, most of my friends that are like "oh im the best driver in the world" and speed around 30 over the limit have been in atleast 3 accidents (each) since they started driving (3-5 years ago)... All of which were their fault

I'm that kind of driver dr0x, was in 1 accident because the the brake lines blew out and I was stopping late and applying a little bit more pressure than usual, good thing it went in a 25mph zone and not while I was clippin along at 80

I stop harder and later than a lot of normal drivers, I speed like 5-10 over. Usually more on the highway. But you wont see me doing 30+ over in a 35 or whatever during the day.

Ahh, I'm not that horrible of a drive, I'd do 45-50 in a 35, but that's about all. It was funny, the one day I was driving decently was the day I get in an accident, didn't see a stop sign till late so I hit the brakes a little harder than usual and the pedal went to the floor and i went right on through the stop sign... Sucked

They are called strut bars. And they reduce chassis flex. If you really want to become a fair driver (better than most on the road) start attending autocrosses. I believe you have to be like 18 or have consent from your parents. You will learn how to control your car in most situations. Autocrosses in the rain are fun

ummm ok how do you know its safe. you could be driving at 3:00 am and think theres no one else on the road so you step on it and just at that moment someone else comes along and you have nowhere to go. these cars have way more power than I would want to see a new driver have, Give it too much gas around a corner and your gonna end up in the ditch or even worse into oncoming traffic. Save it for the track man. everyone thinks there a good driver untill they get pulled out of ther totaled car. Always remember to respect the car. as soon as you loose that respect it will try to kill you

Yeah, sad that I learned how to drive in a 400hp truck hehe. I'm a shitty driver, and I know it. Though I'm pretty good at staying safe... You always know an accidents going to happen when you hear the words "I'm a good driver" It's like a jinx. Thus, I admitted I sucked from teh start and avoided that part

but anyways, my favorite thing to do is floor it from 0-40, then keep it at that. and of course not near oncoming traffic, or with cars infront of me, or little dangerous side streets, im not new to this city, ive lived here for 15 years

Don't bash the kid about what kids his age do; if he wanted a lecture he'd go ask his dad about butt-sex.
