White '87 Rx-7 for $2600

Red '88 vert for $3995

Custom Yellow AE for $4400 ??? since AEs are supposed to be white

As you can see all these cars are only in the Indiana area. You should make some kind of effort to look at different cars in you area. I only looked on autotrader.com to show you what you can find if you just did a 10 minute search. I would have done a more extensive search if I was buying. I would be wary of the AE above, since the mileage is not listed and it is not the stock color. I agree with everyone that is saying you are in love with the car you are currently looking at. This is not a good way to go searching for a car. Do not fall in love!!!!!!!! You will feel regret and it will be too late becuase you already bought the car.

BTW, I am partial to the vert
But you should be able to find better deals if you look.

I did notice that the prices for stock Rexes in your area seem to be a bit expensive. Maybe you should look further away from your area.

OTOH, it looks like you have choices of modified Rx-7 with v8s and GN engines, but this is not the forum to ask questions on this subject.

Here is my original search for RX-7 in indiana area

Good luck searching

in fact give me the number for the guy who owns the car so i can laugh in his face.

btw he's pulling your leg about all that BS its a guy thats just trying to capitalize on the fact that you sound pretty desprite to get a 7. dont be a sucker. i mean if worst comes to worst he'll eventually drop the price down alot cause nobody (smart) is going to buy it.

See, with my parents helping some and paying my insurance, they have a major say in things, and they want me to buy close to home. They aren't crazy about RX-7's. If I can't find one in northern or central IN, then I'm screwed and will have to get something else. I've been looking over a year, and my budget has gone up, thankfully. This is the closest one I've found.
Still I'll be very careful. Only if this guy goes way down will I buy it. Thanks for helping me out guys.
By the way, a vert would be cool, but just not practical for me. I'm going 12 hours away to college. I like the fact that this is 2+2, b/c I can tote an extra friend (or two if they're desperate) w/o his butt hurting and getting tossed around in the hatch, haha. Also, I really want to have cruise control, b/c it's a 12 hour drive 4 times a year! Do TurboII's have cruise control?
Hey, I just saw a new pm from the guy, and he said he's out of financial trouble, so I could make an offer under $4000. I wonder if he has seen this. Anyway, I'll refer him to this thread Monday, so we can get down to business. Please keep the advice coming, guys!

Yes some TII's have cruise, I know mine does. 2+2's aren't that big of a deal, you can swap the rear seats in also.Tell your parents that the guy is trying to rip you off and that you can buy a nicer car 1/2 the price if you just travel a little distance, and then therefore you have the extra $$$ to budget for fixes...

hey um, here's a thought. an aquaintance of mine has had a stupid number of rx7s (FC's mostly and some FD's) over the years. I remember someone asking him once where he finds them all because they aren't cars being listed in classefieds and such. He responded that while alot of people aren't necessarily selling their 7, there are alot of people that have them and aren't attached to them but would sell them if the occasion arose. I see people all the time that just use FC's as daily drivers that probably can't appreciate what a special car it is. His advice was that if you see a nice 7 around, check it out and talk to the owner. If you like it, ask if he would be willing to sell it and make him an offer on it. Think of it like this...if you had a random car that you just used to get from A to B and someone came up and offered you 3k for it, you'd be willing to take it even though you weren't specifically trying to sell the car. Who knows, maybe you can find a nice FC driving around or always see one parked in someones driveway that you can go talk to them about. Just a thought .

Yeah, it's just that I never see them. There's one GSL-SE in town, but it's not in good condition at all. Also, there's a guy that works at Brandt's Harley-Davidson that has a TurboII. I guess I could try talking to him again. I guess it has been a while, and his brother keeps an eye out for RX-7's for sale. I'll have to check with him again. Thanks for reminding me.
