help me chose exhaust
i recently got RB headers and presilencer on my car, but i got the stock mufflers, i really like how it sounds but i want to replace the mufflers and keep the dual exit look, dont wanna go custom. ive searched and found some sound clips but a lot of them have expired or were custom set-ups. I was thinking bout the Apexi N1s or RB of course, was also considering borla. but i think the RB exhaust quites it down to much, havent heard a sound clip of the borla system, and the N1 clip expired. If you guys have any clips of those exhausts that would be a real help, or you could just give me your recommendations and tell me why u like that exhaust.
thanks, any help is appreciated.

RB all the way! They are good sounding at moderate throttle. At full throttle though, wow. All I can say is WoW! I don't know how you can think RBs are too quiet. I think mine are too loud. They also don't look like rice.

I have an older RB turboback with presilencer. Its definately quiet for an aftermarket exhaust. But I love it. Its not too loud but loud enough to get noticed. I would definately recommend it.

I have a borla system and think it is the best sounding, now I may be a bit partial. The system is custom, pre silencer, new cat, 2 mufflers. Cost was about $550.00 less header. I would post a sound clip but do not know how.

Almost 5 years with the Apex N1 duels. I like the agressive look that most people refer to as "ricey". I like the sound as well. Keep in mind that the sound will change greatly depending on what is before the catback.
I have had them on my old N/A and currently they are on my TII. The N/A Was really, REALLY loud in combination with the bonez racepipe. It was very quiet and low with the stock cats.
Currently with the T2 and a downpipe/midpipe combo the N1's are deep and baratone at idle, not overly loud. During normal driving they are not very loud, just a good throaty rumble. Take her WOT and the sound goes from deep tone at 3k rpms to a mid tone up to redline. Not very high pitched in my opinion. Other people might disagree on that, but most don't own the system.

Just call and make an appointment for early friday 10/7/05. Tell Manuel (Owner) that you are down from northern calli and heard he is the man. He might be able to fit you in AND you will have your new system for 7 stock

go racing beat sounds great, ihave there full system for about 6 months it its sounds awesome. I had the hks sytem for 6 years and it sounded great, but racing beat is quiet compared to it but still will turn heads in a parking lot, but may keep the cops from looking to hard for noise violations. Also going thru tunnels in hampton roads area the system sounds great good luck either way you go since its your car

The Borla system is $470 at JC Whitney, and coupon code AEGMJ05 will get you 15% off that price until Sept. 16.
I'll be picking up a used N1 Dual system this Friday to put on my '91 Coupe with Bonez cat (with no pre-silencer), so I can give you my impressions of it after that.

Im going against the grain and im going to say dont get the borla. I was very disapointed with the quality of mine. I had to reem the holes out on the collector where it bolts up to the rest of the exaust for it to fit, then had to wrestle with it for hours to get it all lined up correctly. The tips look sort of cheap to me and the mufflers dont look like 500 bucks worth of money to me. If i could go back and do it over, id spend the extra little bit and go Racing beat all the way. Im never buying another borla system for these cars again.
As far as sound goes they do sound nice, but thats all the credit im going to give to them.

If the Borla is the only system you've ever installed in a '7, I can pretty much assure you that they are basically all a bitch to line up correctly!
As an aside, I've been participating in a few "which exhaust" threads lately and it kind of makes me chuckle when people say "RB all the way!" and then don't have an RB system! How the heck did the RB system get elevated to this mythical status, anyway? The power of the internet, I guess! I'm sure it's a great product, but it reminds me of Honda owners - no matter what breaks, they insist their cars never give them trouble! In other words, with all the pro-RB sentiment on this board, who's going to come here and say they bought one and they aren't all that happy with it?

The afore mentioned is why I like taking it to a muffler shop and having it done. Rember I payed roughly $550 installed (2 mufflers, cat, presilancer) , most of the kits cost that much and you get stuck thinking I payed this much for frustration? Now I know some will banter about mandurel bends and bla bla bla but my vert is not a race car and I never intended for it to be. I just do the San Diego drives with my 4 year old and have fun with the car. Now my system has been on my car since '03 I have no regrets. You wanted sugestions.

My two FC's have RB exhaust components, and my good friend's TII has the 80mm turbo back system. All the components are top quality and are quite worthy of their reputation as great products.

I picked up that used N1 Dual system I mentioned and installed it last night. As promised by the previous owner, it's loud as heck! The system is about 4 years old and mine is the 4th car it's been on, but it's still in excellent condition, so these systems do hold up very well. It was actually a pretty easy install. Had a bit of trouble with one donut hanger, but nothing out of the ordinary.
I am probably selling the car but if I wasn't, I doubt I could live with the noise as is. I'd try Apex's Super Silencers first and if that didn't do the trick, it would go up for sale.
