Help loss of clutch while driving
Any suggestions on this problem?
I was driving and during shift heard a pop and the clutch went all the way to the floor without returning and I lost the clutch completely. Upon pulling over was able to start the car in 1st gear and drive home really slow...
The clutch pedal now returns when pushed but does not function the actual clutch
Any help is appreciated
Word,
Ricky

First check if the slave cylinder moves when you press the pedal.
If the pedal returns after you let it go, that means the fork and pressure plate and hydraulics are probably still working, meaning you need to pull the transmission...
(probably)
OTOH, if you can drive the car, the disc must still be working too.
So you're not telling us something.

I'm having the same issue with my GTUs' clutch pedal not returning once engaged. Tried replacing the clutch master cylinder and bleeding the line, but am unable to bleed due to no pressure.

Just a note in case it ever happens again, you can shift without the clutch.
Just rev-match the gears. When you're driving along, and want to shift to say, second, let off the gas like you would normally shift, pull it out of first, and let the revs fall how ever far they would normally fall if you were going into second, then gently pull it into gear. If you didn't get it close enough to where the syncro's can make it happen, then you can feather the gas and get the revs to wherever they need to be.
It's a handy little trick, I actually shift without the clutch a lot when just putting around town. Saves on the left leg wear and tear. When you get real good at it, you can do the same thing for downshifting too.... pull it out of gear, give it a quick rev up to the next gear, and pull it in.
But as for your problem - check your master and slave cylinder for operation. Also check your fluid for the clutch.

From what you (OP) said,
I had the same problem about a month ago. I started to go as a street light turn green but my clutch pedal barely engaged, I then just slid my foot under it to fully release it. I used the rev-matching method (^up there) to get home. Then I bought a new Clutch Master and Slave Cylander from clutchcityonline.com waited a few days put them on, flushed the system and wa-la. Good as new.
Note: I was lucky that it was only my push-rod. I guess I should have taken my slave cylander off first but whatever. I know have brand new parts, which are always good.

Make sure the slave cylinder is actually still bolted onto the transmission...
If it's not bolted into position and you press the pedal, the cylinder will pop out, which will let the pedal return (I think), but the clutch will not work for obvious reasons.
I've actually had this happen before.
