Help! Which idiot lights should come on?

Which idiot lights should come on when I turn the key to ignition before starting the engine?

This is on an 87 GXL. Some of my lights work when needed, such as the door, hatch, low coolant, washer fluid, and parking brake. I have never seen the other lights work, however.

If all of the lights are supposed to come on when the key is on ignition, what would be the problem as to why they aren't working?

Thanks in advance.

All of them. If some don't work, it could be a bulb or solder issue.

Ok. Well, none come on before the engine is started unless they are needed, i.e. the door is open or the parking brake is on. I know most of them work, they just don't all light up before start up.

I checked the idiot light assembly and the solders seem good. The bulbs are also all good. What could be the problem?

Is the plug on the back of the alternator connected? With the key in the ON position, all of the lights should be on.

I didn't even think about a fuse. I did change the alternator recently, and the plug is connected. Maybe the contacts are bad. I'll check those and see if that fixed it.

It could be cpu which controls those.
