Help Identifying Turbo

So I loaned a guy my old 2 wheeled car dolly, which he broke and left in New York somewhere...

He didn't have money to buy me a new one, so he gave me a crap ton of RX-7 parts. Among them was this turbo.

It has no tags or anything, but I was told that it's a T66 or T70.

I don't know much about turbos except their general theory of operation. I need help identifying what it is and any other details anyone can figure out... A/R ratio and such...

I can tell that it is oil cooled only and that it is SIGNIFICANTLY larger than a factory S5 turbo (Pictured next to it for size reference.)

Check out this album and let me know what you can gather from it.

All photos can be blown up and are in high resolution. I have photographed any markings and numbers that I can find on it.

I looks like one of those super T70's. It could be SUPER 70 60.5mm - A/R RATIO .70 - TURBINE HOUSING A/R .84 - COMPRESSOR HOUSING .70 - T4 FLANGE

like this:

you could always take the covers off & measure the wheels with a caliper. To get the AR gotta do some math.

What about the exhaust housing? Does it look like it may be a hybrid?
The gaskets I have with it are labeled for a T4.

From what I can see from the pics those are 4 bolt exit T4 gaskets. The turbo appears to have a V-Band exit so you won't need them. I will say a lot of the T70's I have seen have had a divided housing, but there have been a few undivided I have personally seen.

Those gaskets are for this type housing

Looks like a T76 compressor wheel and Q trim turbine wheel, hard to say for sure though. Doesn't look like the standard EBAY stuff...

Compressor A/R is .70, exhaust is .84, non-divided, v-band.
OK, the back of the turbo has the following:

5327-5794
5617
K27.015

The tag says:

Turbocharger
Type: T4 V Band
Part no: ST1
Serial number: T511090390184

J84 is cast into the front housing

The inlet is about 4" across and tapers to what looks like about 2 1/2", and the outlet is about 2 1/2" as well.

Yup, firsthand experience, I have a messed up one here in my garage. They're cheap China T70 knockoff turbos. (Where do you think ssautochrome gets theirs?) I disassembled mine after the wheel ate the compressor away and the wheel wasnt balanced, the compressor inducer fins weren't sharpened and the shaft is very thin compared to any quality T70 turbo. The casting of the CHRA looks awfully cheap as well. I had a friend who rebuilds turbos for a living look at it and he just laughed. Just wanted to give a word to the wise, I don't want anyone to go through what I went through with that turbo.

Cesar

PS Here's a pic so you don't think Im BSing, I took this when I got my new turbo to show they are the same dimensions as far as compressor and turbine housings. You can also see the shaft size differences and the dull compressor wheel blades.

man...this doesnt look good for me...
