Help identify this n370

Help identify this tiny box next to the m370 relay.
it has no markings, connectors look like it plugs inline with the n370 but it was not connected to anything.

Car is a UK 1991 Turbo 2 with n380 sticker on the ecu.
There’s also a receipt in the history for a WGT Auto development phase 1 chip, wonder if it’s this?
What does it do?
I’ve had the car for 6 months, bought as a project, not run for 23 years.

Thanks, any info appreciated.

Yes, that's what it is. Been in touch with the supplier and is fuel cut defender. The T2 has air flow meter so is able to supply extra fuel if the boost is raised slightly.
The ECU isn't modified.

Is there any chance you could save the rom off that chip? I posted the stock n370 rom a few months ago. Would be interested in looking at the differences and seeing what was modified.

Also, you need to clean and inspect that ECU. Use some isopropyl alcohol and some q-tips and clean the board and components. That unit almost certainly has leaking old capacitors and the start of corrosion. Look for corrosion and discoloration, especially around the electrolytic capacitors. Those only have a life of 20-25 years, and we're well past that. They need replaced.

I don't have the tools to save the ROM unfortunately unless there's an easy way I don't know about.

I've cleaned the board best I can and removed the corrosion that's just creeping in. The caps looks fine, no bulging or leaking, I'll leave them alone unless I start getting problems.

Thanks.

A TL866ii programmer is sufficient to read the rom. Those can be found super cheap. You would just have to desolder the chip from the board and read it. Then you can solder it right back
