Help Identify Hose??

I have a hose FB05-32-480 that in the Mazda parts database says 'return hose'. I assume Power Steering return hose, but looking in my car photos when I removed the engine, I don't see anything that resembles this?? My car is out for painting so I can't take a first hand look. BTW, I have a 90 convertible. Thanks...

I couldn't find that part exactly in my version of the parts catalog, but many of the surrounding part numbers were power steering parts, so I'd say a power steering line is a safe bet. How did you end up with the part? I only ask since you don't remember seeing one like it and I can't find the exact number mentioned. I checked my 91 parts catalog, but a quick view of the index of the 89-90 catalog doesn't mention it either.

according to some googling, that hose belongs in the power steering cooling loop.

Well, I ordered parts years ago that I'd thought I'd need later on when I did my rebuild. I'm doing it now. Plan was to replace 20 year old parts, like hoses, etc., with the engine out of the car when everything was easily accessible. But I'm not sure how I came up with that P/N?? I guess I copied the number down wrong?

Oh, the link FirstRotaryExp furnished shows a '32-480' part about midpoint in the return loop pipe. I think that is it. My return loop though is different in that it is all pipe. There's no hose section as shown in the IPB. Thanks.

That explains a fair bit. It looks like Mazda at some point used that hose in the cooling loop, then took it out in favor of just hard metal tubing? A quick trip to the garage confirmed my 91 TII is lacking that hose. The 91 catalog shows the cooling loop as being all hard tubing.

Yeah, I think mazda used a couple different cooling loop lines, just like they used 2 different ac compressors and fittings, and 2 different power steering pumps and line configurations.

According to the site I gleaned that image from, its supposedly for the 86-88 steering racks. about a $90 hose too.
