I would also like see a picture of what you are describing. The only thing that I can think of back there with that type of connector would be the AAS control unit. Whether your car has the AAS or not, it was prewired with the harness. If you didn't have it the connector was just there, not plugged into anything.
I've seen people remove them thinking that the module has gone bad. Its commonly a failed actuator on the top of the strut. Glad you were able to figure out what was missing! Are the actuators still present on the rear shocks?
I believe they are, they are under the speakers so I didn't see them, the fronts are still there. I ordered the module so maybe I'll slap it in and see if it works.
What are shock rebuild options or swaps that are compatible with the electronic controller?
Koni makes adjustable shocks, which I'm considering getting for the rears I wonder if the control top part is compatible.. Neat.
Also to add some how the factory sturts don't feel blown on this car even being 30 years old suspension still feels decent
I ordered one that is similar pin but not same as mine, notice center pin and then 3 and 2
So center pin then 5 pins on each side hmm
This has the same connector

It do's. What you want for that hog? I have been looking at modules all day and can't seem to find one with same connector, I ordered one and it's likely off of an s5 and the connector is for sure different.
I have a power steering control module on the way, spare and an s5 aas controller if anyone needs those lol.
