Question Help ID This Wire Please?

My '88 went into the dealer (there's my problem...) for a 150,000 mile tune, and came out with the 3,800 RPM hesitation. It is extremely intermittent - only happens once in a while, under a variety of driving conditions. I looked under the hood and I see this wire is not connected.

Is that a ground wire? It comes into the engine bay through the firewall at the top of the driver's side rear corner, behind the strut and coil. It has a 30A fuse on it, and as you can see it has a ring connector so it seems to go on a bolt. Can someone please let me know where it should be fastened? Hopefully this is a simple solution to the hesitation issue that the dealership insists isn't their problem.

Thank you very much for any assistance,
Doc

Yep, aftermarket alarm or stereo wire, un-related to any running issues.

Mazda also is not lame enough to zip tie any wires onto the trailing coil spark plug wires. everything in the harness should be re-routed.

haha I didn't even notice that, looking at the blue wire in front of the brake booster.

yeah look where they mounted the siren... nothing like leaving it in plan view and right next to the battery, so when they pop the hood trying to kill the alarm instead of cutting the battery line, they can just pull out the siren
