Help: How to Remove Throttle Body? Is it hard?

Shiit, just started smelling fuel today!! I notice its coming from where the PD is but thats not leaking. Ive just purchased a banjo bolt yesturday to do the PD replacement anyways!! The hose coming off the PD is leaking. Welp, anyways the real reason for this post is to find out how long it might take to pull the TB off and is it hard? Is it a pain in the *** or should I just pay someone to do it? I have documents on how to pull it apart(the lovely search section).

Thanks,

Chris

you can definately do it yourself in just a couple hours, you'll need to remove the TB&UIM, i'd suggest replacing all your fuel and vacuum lines while your at it.

oh and if your not in a huge hurry send your fuel injectors out to be cleaned, about 15$ each and they'll be back in a week, it made a huge difference for me

I have replacement injectors that have been cleaned already which I bought last summer(just havent installed them). So your saying it shouldnt be that hard then, only a few hours? What would be the best way to mark the hoses and where they go upon putting back together? I guess thats what im worried about putting it back together.

it's really easy actually, i took them off one at a time and cut another piece of hose the same length and replaced it, just keeping doing that until theres no more old hose, you should probably buy a new spider hose also. go to mazdatrix they have a chart of how much of each hose you'll need.

if you do all the fuel and vacuum hoses, change your injectors out, install banjo bolt, reinsatll uim and tb, should take 3 maybe 4 hours.

I think the fuel hose is 5/16th. Buy the J30R9 fuel line.

Do you have your emissions rack still? I don't so I need quite a few feet of the stuff since it runs all the way across my block. 6' maybe.

How about this, just take off your old hose and put it in a line and measure how long that is. Add about 6 inches and go buy that. I usually add because I just cut it a bit long then trim it down. Better to cut it long and then trim then cut it too short and have to buy a bunch more.

yeah thats the stuff.

6' feet was more than enough or me. oh also remember to order new crush washers for banjo bolt on the rear if you take it off.and a new fuel filter. oh and new o-rings for the diffusers under the fuel injectors, i was able to remove the old ones by sticking my pinky the hole and just pulling them out, i didn't break anything at all. and make sure to use fuel injection clamps not regular hose clamps... ok i think thats it
