Help getting power antenna to go up

The anntenna won't go up. This problem began gradually so i think it's the motor. I don't want to pay to have a new motor put in. I've checked the fuse and it's ok. I just want to get the antenna up so I can disconnect it and leave it up. Someone suggested I put on a window antenna and forget the power one.

I looked in the FAQ and searched and didn't find anything. Any advice?

First of all, are you sure it's the motor that's bad?
Turn on the radio and you should be able to hear the motor whining back there.

I find it odd that this is not covered in the FAQ's, since this is a very common problem.
It's usually the plastic mast that breaks.
The Mazda dealer sells just the mast.
There are numerous write-up's on how to replace the mast.

I redid the search and did find a lot of stuff like you said. I must have screwed it up the first time. Thanks.

Just remove it! Make sure it's connected behind the radio.

If it's all connected and it is a seized motor then just buy a euro style antenna.
