Help: Fuel rail weeping gas
Hey all. The ham-fisted jerks who built my NA S4 motor replaced the PD with a banjo bolt, and it's weeping a bit of fuel sometimes. (I don't know how long it's been doing this, but the rebuild was like 5 years ago, we're not talking about a recent mod, but the gas smell has gotten much worse fairly recently).
I am planning to yank the motor to seal up some oil leaks and to turbocharge it in the spring, so I'll install a replacement PD at that time. For now, I just want to tighten the banjo and apply some sealant to see if that stops the weeping fuel. My questions:
1) How tight should the banjo be torqued? I do NOT want to wreck the fuel rail doing this!
2) What sealant do you suggest? Applied in what quantity to what surfaces?
Thanks a million,
Phil.

Thank you very much, Mark. BTW - kick *** avatar - I love Samurai Jack!
I also don't think that they put any crush washers on. Can someone tell me what size ID would be appropriate for this fitting? I'd prefer to pick up the parts before taking it apart.
Thanks again,
Phil.
