HELP!! fuel leak problem.....have searched

so i just bought an 87 turbo II and came back into the rotary world finallyn(my third rx-7)
however now im having a weird fuel leak/hesitation problem
i picked the car up and it had half a tank of gas in it so i drove for a while it ran strong turbo boosted great and everything (was traveling from VT to NY)
then suddenly i noticed i was having hesitation problems as i tried to accelerate and the car would like stutter when ever it tried to create boost
finally i decided to stop and fill up with gas and check things out
suddenly after i filled the tank a few gallons of gas came pouring out from under the car
checked it out and didnt really know what to do so i decided to see if the car would still go....started up fine and drove great no hesitation problems
after about an hour i started to have hesitation problems again
and then going around a steep turn on an exit ramp it seemed that i lost a lot of fuel again or some sort of fluid (my gf was following me and told me it hapened)
sorry i know its long but wanted to explain everything....
what could be the problem??? is it multiple problems??
HELP!!

Ya gotta find the source of the leak and take care of it immediately! "Poured out from under the car" where--front, rear, under the engine, etc? Check under the intake manifold for puddles of gas on top of the engine. If you see those puddles, the pulsation damper on the end of the primary fuel rail is leaking. A fairly common problem with these cars, particularly on the S4.

Don't drive the car like that unless you carry a LARGE fire extinguisher with you at all times. It will burn! Many examples of that.

i havnt had too much time to check into anything but the fuel poured out from the back of the car like where the tank is....on the drivers side
i jacked up the car to look underneath and the drivers side of the tank mostly towards the front of the car seems wet
i also checked where the fuel pump was to see if any damage there and noticed that most of the screws holding the fuel pump cover were drilled out and there was only like 2 holding it down...but it didnt seem wet up on the top of the tank....
so my only thought was it leaked from there and possibly dried up overnight to where it didnt seem wet....
any other thoughts???

The fuel tank connects via a fuel rubber hose to an hard metal fuel line under the car. Check if there is any clamp broken, hose, etc. The leak would mark from were came from.

I had a leak when my tank was full finally figured out the gasket for the fuel pump was completely gone, but that wouldnt explain the hesitation they could be two unrelated problems first think is find the leak.
