First jpg shows, I think, the brown socket that carrys the light bulb for the glove box.

The second jpg attached...........shows a MESS. I might fiddle with this later. Maybe not since your engine turns off normally now.

The short harness with a bulb on one end and an electrical plug on the other end, is shown more or less in the parts fische jpgs attached.

The bulb holder attaches to the plastic surround that fits over the ignition switch. Then the two wire harness gets plugged into the plug on the Front harness.

None of my cars have this two wire harness no 'mo. Evidently it was too much trouble to unplug/reattach it any time I took the plastic pieces off from around the ignition switch.

Okay thank you for the clarification. Now what might cause the dome light to never come on but the map lights can work just fine?? And is whatever is keeping the dome light from working also keeping the hatch light from working properly? The temperature control also doesn't work on the HVAC unit. The blower motor works just fine though.

About the lights above your head and located on the mirror base so to speak.......I'd pull the plug apart at that assy. As shown in the jpg, the BLUE/RED or L/R wire should have batt power from the Room fuse. That part is easy.

Then the L/W wire should be getting a ground from either door switch. So put a meter on L/W and meter on ohms look for a gnd coming and going as the door is opened. I think that's the gnd for the middle light.

The gnd for the two other lights has it's ground ..at that assy somewhere if memory serves. NOT from the door switches. I think THAT gnd is attached to a screw at the light assy.

So gotta have power at L/R all the time. Gotta have a gnd at L/W when either door opens. And for the middle light...it gets it's power from the same L/R wire in the two wire elect plug, but it's gnd is AT that assy.

Two of those switches require being pushed to work and the other has to have the slide switch of the assy pushed one way or the other. So check for pwr and gnds working when doors are opened.

The rear hatch lght or CARGO ROOM light gets power on it's L/R wire and its ground from either of the two hatch switches located........near the hatch latches on the left or right. I'm not too familiar with that one, just the way the FSM wiring shows life. CARGO ROOM light also has it's own on/off switch on the light assy if memory serves.

The BODY ELECTRICAL has some insight on this type of stuff. LIke the third attached jpg.

The car is now running and functioning 99%. I still need to address the room/hatchlight/key light issue but all in good time as those were the least of my worries. I removed the entire dash yesterday and learned everything I could about my car. I now need a few interior pieces such as the little tray that pops in with clips up on the dash; the one that surrounds the warning light assembly. I also need the little one touch cigarette ash tray thing. I need a factory radio too! lol.

HAILERS again you have helped greatly but to those also who chimed in thank you!
