Help! Driveabilty Problems....

I have a 1990 naturally aspirated FC. A couple of hours ago, I was taking a drive until some severe driveability problems occured. Upon acceleration the engine begins to chug and struggle around 2000 rpm and above. My inital thought was that the tps is at fault since the previous owner has had trouble with its idle setting. After, I pulled over, I put the car in neutral and graudually raised the rpm and it began to chug and struggle between 2-4000 rpm and would not go any higher. I believe that the wiper contact within the tps might have gone bad. Can anyone give some feedback of input please?

Sounds like a reasonable assumption. I've seen this exact symptom when my TPS unplugged itself driving around town...
