need helping on engine build; 6 or 4 port, which rotors?

yes yes, i know. search. i did. i cant find what im wanting to know.

heres the deal. i was debating a piston swap for some time but decided to change my mind. im going to try a boosted 13b first to see how i like it.

the engine will be going into my silver SA(pictured below). it wont be built for drad. itll be more of a fun weekend car for autox, occassional road course, and meets. its more about being fun though.

im not looking to spend crap loads of cash. im in college and not planning the swap anytime soon. right now im gathering data and maybe some parts.

i want to be over 300rwhp. maybe even higher on a higher boost setting, but thatd be ust for ******* around or kicking ***. the car would see a street port, not sure on size yet though. i havent decided a turbo. i want to keep it relatively cheap incase an apex seals goes through it. so probably a BNR hybrid or something.

i had read about running a 6 port motor with the ports actuated off of boost. they described this set up as very torquey. i had initially thought id run S rotors due to the stock 3mm apex seals and the comp helping the low end. i know when you boost high comp the tuning becomes more critical. i just dont want something that ill have to worry about on pump gas or run race fuel in. i want to be able to throw some good quality pump gas into and not worry about it. maybe running better if i want to up the boost for an event or something.

i want to hear from people with experience with boosted 6 ports. i also want to hear from some people who have the port actuators set up through boost and not the exhaust. i couldnt find anything on this.

is 6 port really what i need? i have someone offering me a trade for some street ported 4 port housings. i want to make sure i know what i want before i pass up on a deal or buy something.

onto the rotors. i had in the past planned on boosting some S5 NA rotors, but sold the engine. so now if i run FC housings and plates, i need to decide which rotors to run. i dont knw if id be better off with S5 T2, S5 NA, S4 T2, S4 NA, or SE rotors.

i know the numbers im looking for isnt really high, but i want the torqey driveabilty, and i want reliability. im giving the boosted wankel a chance before i swap in a piston. dont let me down wankel!!
tell me what you think fellas.

for what you want to achieve, just keep it simple. if you don't already have a 6-port in hand, get an S5 13B-T and engine management. i would only recommend turbocharging a 6-port for people that aren't looking for big boost, big turbos and stratospheric power levels ... AND ... they already have a healthy, functional 6-port engine. the S5 13B-T give you what you want and if you decide you want more later, it will give you more with the appropriate parts added.

on a sidenote, what would you be doing with your 12A?

i thought about a S5 swap, but IIRC doesnt the S5 turbo and manifolds pose problems when in a SA/FB chasis? if im not mistaken it sticks out farther towards the passenger side and becomes a clearance issue.

i had initially thought about a S5 swap for the facts that it was basically what i wanted and the turbo is better than the S4, IIRC.

what about what i said about hooking up port actuators through the boost/vacuum line rather than the exhaust? id like to hear some peoples experiences with this.

this is the first i'm hearing about clearance issues ... hmmm. i'll look into that, i guess.

as for your 6-port question, you should probably hit up Directfreak, Crispeed, Aaron Cake or Judge Ito.
