Help! did I cut the wrong wires at my ECU?

Alright so I read in the megasquirt forum that I need to jumper the wires at pin 1E and 1F (from p. 4A-30 in FSM) to make the A/C work with the megasquirt (I have the Zeal plug & play megasquirt). Well I have the stock ECU in right now b/c I'm going to drive to the shop for tuning on it and then plug the megasquirt in when I get there.

Well I can't really jump the two easily with the plug&play adapter, so I decide to cut the two wires before the plug and splice them together. Looking at the diagram, it appears to be on the biggest ECU plug, and that appeared to be a red wire and a brownish wire. So I cut them and splice them and now the car won't start! how could A/C wires affect this? It's my interpretation that splicing these two merely sends the signal from the A/C switch in the car directly to the main relay, bypassing the ECU.

Or did I mess something else up? The harness has been hacked up a little b/c the car used to have an SAFC in there so there is electrical tape on the exposed wire. I'm going to go check everything else out right now.

I feel like a huge dumbass. This is what always happens when I try to do anything to this car... I break something else.

Looking again at the FSM, either I cut the two A/C wires I got the wires from the port air solenoid valve and the (ugh) crank angle sensor... Is that big red wire the CAS?

um yeah so it looks like I misinterpreted the diagram and got it all inverted, so I did cut the CAS wire. The diagram is from the back of the plug, if you have them in the ECU, not from the front, if you had the plugs disconnected. Oh well. I've got a friend who's really good at soldering coming over to help me fix it.
