I just replaced the engine with a used engine and now my car wont start. I have checked all of my grounds all wires and i am getting fuel. please help!

 

you need to be more detailed. It cranks, it doesnt crank, it clicks but doesnt crank, I turn the key and nothing happens.
The problem is we do not know your knowledge level so you must be as detailed as possible dont be afraid to type out 5 or 6 sentences.

 

it cranks but it wont fire up. ive tried trans fluid to help it seal but it diddent work either.

 

ok i found out for some reason im not getting fuel. the fuel pump works and i have good fuel pressure. i think that my ecu might have gone out. if anybody has one for an 88 gxl let me know if you want to get rid of it!!!!

 

dude your best be is to look on ebay i know it sucks but look for a seller that is an actual store and for some reason they are just selling on ebay thats what i did and mine works just fine. oh and im having the same promblem mine turns over im getting gas and spark but wont start if you figure it out let me know

 

what about the injectors? if your getting fuel pressure and none into the engine ?

 

i dont know how to check the injectors, but im pretty sure they are working since they are the same ones that were on the last engine. i just used them about 3 weeks ago.

 

before replacing the ECU i would go ahead and check pins 3E and 3C for 12v with ignition ON. Then check pins 3G and 3A for .5 volts or less with ignition OFF. Use a multimeter for this. If everything checks out then we know that your injectors are getting power and have adequet (I know i spelled that wrong) ground.
Did you check for spark?

 

Yes I have spark and the engine turns over fine. just no fuel

 

are the plugs new?

 

Check if the fuel lines are mixed up i hade that problem But I get tons of fuel now that I got that problem fixed

 

Yes, check to see if you mixed up teh lines. The rats nest on a 87 block differs from the 88's. I know because it happened with me as well, caused 4 hours of headaches.

 

The spark plugs are brand new. I just tried to switch the fuel lines and it did not work. Is there another way to check the ecu because i dont have a multimeter

 

im pretty sure my ecu is bad because i hooked up a noid light to the injector plugs and the light did not light up.

 

ok just bought a new ecu and it did not work engine will turn over but it still wont start. please help!!!!!

 

if any one has one, i need a pin out digram for the ecu on a 88 non turbo

i used the new wiring harness and it was off of an older rx7. the injectors on the older cars need a resitor box that i did not need or have, i put the old harness back in and it fired right up!!!
