help car runs great for 30 minutes...

HELP!! Ok i have a 90 gxl the car drives great for like 30 minutes, after that if i press the gass all the way it just stalls, but if i dont push the gas all the way its fine only when i push the gas all the way down. Any one knows what it is? some times the engine light goes on and then thats when it start to happen. If i just turn the car off for 1 sec and then on, is fine again.

What I would suggest is to get the ecu fault code. http://home.rmci.net/panther/ecu_codes.htm
Once you determine the code I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction.

Sounds like your air/fuel is out of wack if it bogs down only with full throttle. Check the intake piping between the intake manifold and MAF before the airbox.

When was the last tuneup? Could also be that.

All your warning lights coming up normally means your alternator isn't putting out what it should (check your alt belt tightness - it can slip without squeaking!) Have you explored this possibility yet?

Ya, I know what it is

Just haven't got around to fixing it yet, its really one of my smaller problems. Its got a dual sheave pulley on there running with 2 belts. No way its slipping. Just a bad alt. Ill get around to it after xmas when I got some money again. Thanks though

Yeah, I had a little trouble believing that you'd rung up 900+ posts and didn't know THAT.

Check your connections and wires, too (got a digital multimeter?) And start using di-electric grease on EVERYTHING.

Did those tests quite a while back:

14.5 volts at idle alt-ground.
12.5 Battery post-post

Then when it starts to have problems it drops as low as 10.5 v alt-ground
I know that aint right

If you can't find it after searching, absolutely.

Plus, if you do find it by searching, you'll have your answer in minutes, rather than waiting and waiting until someone replies.

I found these relevent threads in less than 3 minutes...
