Help....Car not wanting to start...chuggs but doesnt start...

Ok so I redid all the vac lines on the car and now for some odd reason the car seems to WANT to start but dies immediately. Go figure. Any ideas would be most helpful. Here's what things are looking like under the manifold. 1990 GTU S5

Did you clean the gasket surfaces very carefully when you reassembled the UIM?

This sounds like a vacuum leak to me, the AFM never sees the air that is leaked in the vacuum lines and so the fuel pump quits when the starter is released, causing the engine to quit directly after starting.

This could also be as simple as being flooded.

I can't see that well, but there is a thread with a vacuumm schematic here:

I think that there is a missing vacuum line somewhere or a bad gasket seal.
