Just bought 87 turbo, put new plugs, wires, checked timing and other basics

car will start, goes up to 1000 rpm +- then dies within a second or two, trailing plugs are usually soaked in fuel when i pull them. and it spit out some kind of black oil/gas from the right side one time???

First of all, welcome to the Board.

Fuel saturated Plugs you say? The obvious Is flooding or leaky Fuel Injectors Is taking place. I'd take out the FI's and replace the Upper/Lower Grommets and O-Rings first. While they are out, get them machine cleaned. You may want to Install a Fuel Cut Switch. Flooding Is notorious with our cars. Do a search under this title. It will yield you a ton of Info on It's purpose and Installation.

After you do the O rings and stuff, make sure you reset your TPS, and it couldn't hurt to clean your MAS. That will ensure your idle, and you air/fuel mixtures are running at there best!

TPS is your Throttle Position Sensor. It would be in your best interest to pick up a Hayne's manual for your car, as it goes through all how-to's in great detail. The manuals are inexpensive, and you will more than likely need it more than a few times, especially if you intend to modify the car in any way. I know I've had to use it quite a few times myself!
