snapped my rear u joint and im taking the shaft out right now but for some reason the shaft wont slide out? any ideas? were trying to use a lever on it hit..nothing.

 

Once you have unbolted the driveshaft flange at the differential, smack it with a hammer a few times to break the rust bond that forms between the shaft and diff. The shaft should then slide forwad a bit into the transmission, allowing you to angle the rear end down and then slide it backwards out of the transmission.

Where is it getting stuck for you?

 

thanks. it was just stuck in the end housing of the tranny. but i got it out. just a little stuck being almost 17 years old.
