CO Help! Bought an FC and it is leaking coolant

Hi all, bought my first rotary rocket this weekend. It is an '87 RX7 GXL, and I noticed it is leaking coolant pretty bad when pressurized. I only had time to take a quick glance but it is coming from underneath the intake manifold behind the alternator. I am assuming it is a hose of some sort but I am not sure, if anyone knows all the coolant hoses down there or has a diagram of them that would be a great help!

Go google "rx7 fsm" and you'll find more than you ever wanted to know in the first search result.

There's also a sensor, Water Thermosensor, screwed into the top rear of the water pump just below the alternator.

Bet it's the hose/fittings that go to the BAC and thermowax.

yes, there is a hose right back there, since that one is bad, you should probably change all three of the throttle body hoses.

Thanks guys!
clokker: is the thermowax and BAC on the left side of the engine (looking over the front) and it is kind of a long tube with fittings on the end?

Also, what do I have to remove (if anything) to get to all the hoses?

Sounds like you're describing the secondary fuel rail to me.

When I get home I'll take some pictures, I am not versed with the rotary yet. Anyways, on the bottom of that there is something screwed into the housing that is leaking a bit of coolant, very small amounts not even drops. Would I put loctite on it and thread it back in?

Find out exactly what the source of the leak is before ...................

it depends, if you have a good set of long nose pliers, you might be able to change them without removing anything else.

It turned out to be a hose that runs right behind and beneath the alternator. It has a small hole in it, and when it was pressurized it would spray all over the bottom of the intake.

Hey, its good to see another Rx-7 owner in the Northern Colorado area. I occasionally organize Rx-7 meets where a bunch of guys get together BBQ and cruise and see whos car breaks first! It's also a good resources for good rotary information or parts you may want or need. Shoot me a pm if you would be interested.
