Help With After Accident Problem

Well last friday i was on my way home from work in my 88 turbo 2 and was all happy because i got off early and it was friday. I had plans to go to the track and run a few times. But on my way home a women in her truck slams on her brakes in the middle of the highway in front of me and a slam on mine with a good distance still left in between us but a guy in a big mercury slams into the back of me. Long story short messes up my bumber and spare tire well and bent my rev2 racing beat exhaust. I rove it home and it was fine. Next day i was driving it and it lost all power took a compresson test and it wasnt good but still should be running. Checked everything and a side note the turbo and downpipe were glowing red at the time of it losing power. So do you think something could be clogging my exhaust or is it something else. Checked the piping for kinks but there were none. I would like to try and get running because the insurance already totalled it. Was running perfect before the accident. Thanks

If believe high exhaust tempetures = Lean. The accident could have messed something in the fuel system off. If u believe the exhaust is the problem... take it off and just run the downpipe to see what happens. It'll be wicked loud but sounds sexy . The problem with ur car and the car acting up could be coincidence.

Think the fuel is there because you can smeel it and it was shooting fireballs. I had to drive it to my grandmothers the other night and it has no power had to keep it above at least 3,000 rpm and it stalled anytime it was around 1,000 it had to boost to keep it moving. Very hard to start you have to pump the gas and keep trying took me like 20 min after i stalled out. Think the engine might be gone but the car when i first got it, it ran on one rotor and it ran better than it does now. Seems like it is missing all the time tried switching coils, checked my tps, my maf, my ecu, and spark plugs.

yeah, dude, sounds obvious... too much backpressure due to bent exaust. U shure it did not internaly bend on of the mufflers? that would really **** things up!

Good luck with it... and for the love of god, don't sell!!!!

Yea i would never sell it. But i am going to take the exhaust off tomorrow and see if it helps it. I just hope the engine can last just a bit longer because i really need money for my 10th ae engine build. Nobody wants a 91 vert

Lol, I see you have the 10th AE project, you drive the T2, what do you have the vert for? Part it out! It would be better if the other T2 was your project, S5 conversion and ton of good parts. I bet you want to keep the 10AE original, and S4 status...

Cant keep up with your editing but i am going to build up the 10th got it as a shell for $800 with the interior intact. Plan for a either large street port or a half bridge port along with a gt35t4 kit and a standalone. Its going to look stock out side and not going to do anything stupid to the interior like a racing seat and gauges every where only on the apillar. But would not really do anything to the black one maybe a street port already have a hybrid in it. Dont think i would part out a perfectly good car might just keep it.
