HELP! Advice!
Either I'm crazy or my posts aren't making it here, or I have been forgetting where the posts were made, or they were moved. Please help:
I just bought an 86 RX, FC, NA with 168 grand. Engine looks great and runs as good.
I have a few small issues though.
1. The guy put in some crappo speakers in the back and I want to hook up the rears on the strut towers again, however the wiring on this site show only a 2 wire set up in the rear, not a 4. I have a 4. Anyone?
2. The car got a littl hot on me one day, so I decided to put in a thermostat. I bought one, 193 degree failsafe. It is still running hot, should I get the 182 degree?
3. I figured out the tube in the front right underbody is a coolane overflo.
4. Is the cruise switch actually lighted, that is when you turn on CC, there is a small word that lights up just to the left of the switch, is that a light, or mechanical?
5. I have a dea spot in acceleration from 3-4000 RPM, should I replace, or at least beef up ground to the engine?
6. I suspect the power brake booster is going out, brakes are fading. How do I know for sure?
Thanks for your help.

The stock wires SUCK.

Stop using other brands.

Do a keyword search "3800" or "3,800".

I put money it's not the booster, and it's something else other than the booster.
1) Bleed the brakes first.
2) Inspect the brake pads to make sure they are not worn out.
3) Inspect the brake rotors for abnormal scoring or grooves - they should be pretty shiny and smooth.

Ted,
Thanks for the reply.
#2 - I did quite a bit of reading on this car. The thermostat operating range is between 177-188 degrees F. I have never used any OEM products due to pricing on any car, I am surprised that the manufacture of this part can be that important. Is there that much difference?
#3, it was a question on this forum, I just found out what it was last night, I mainly posted it here for others who didn't know.
#4 - I rarely use it as well, but it is nice to have everything work.
#5 - I saw this in several posts, all seem to suggest re-grounding the engine, I just wanted to be sure from someone who has had this issue and solved it.
#6 - Brake pads are good, can't bleed right now, bleeders are frozen and will break off, I'm going to pick some up tomorrow along with an 'easy-out', will do so then.
Thanks for the reply.
