HELP ! Add Coolant Alarm !

Back in December I was driving the car and the water pump, the Add Coolant light was coming in and out. Since then the car sat. I replaced the water pump today and topped off the coolant.
Now, the add coolant light / alarm is staying on. After I replaced the pump, I only let the car idle for about 5 minutes. The alarm never cleared.

Is it possible this sensor needs to be replaced? Where is it located? Do the 13Bs have a thermostat? If so where are they located?

Thanks in advance.

did you bleed the coolant system for air?

If you follow the upper radiator hose to where it meet the engine. thats the thermostat housing, the thermostat is in there.

sounds like your Rad cap is Done.Get another one..replace it with an OEM Rad cap..(the cap that relieves the pressure, to the Overflow).also Make sure that the Hose Going from the Rad to the Overflow is Good.If it has a Break in it,then your Rad is not able to Suck the Coolant Back into the Cooling system, and You will get Higher Temps, and May cause some "difficulty" with your engine.Thermostat as stated is on the Engine under the NECK.,where the Top rad hose Meets the Engine.and Yes,If you are getting air in the system,The sensor will go off.Sometimes they Do go bad,But They are Usually a Pretty reliable sensor.

As far as the rotary engine is concerned "coolant" applies to both antifreeze/water as well as oil.

If your oil gets too low (for example a busted oil cooler line....ask me how I know) the "coolant" buzzer will go off. If there's still a reasonable amount left it will go off when you make a turn, but after enough runs out it will pretty much stay on. I checked my coolant after the buzzer went off, and it was fine, got back in, drove about 5 mins it came back on. Good little buzzer

If the new rad cap doesn't work:

1. Check all overheating/temp/coolant tips in the FAQ.
2. Check for a blown coolant seal: Do a search ("coolant seal test"?). I think you just idle the engine w/o a radiator cap. If it doesn't geyser you're good. But do a search to be sure you do the test right.

If you need to burp the coolant, this is an easy way to do it:
Lisle 22150 - Spill-free radiator funnel kit
http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/lis22150.html

This funnel fits snugly so you can fill it full of coolant. That way you just idle your engine and coolant, not air, slowly drops in and fills all the air pockets. Simple.

A search through these forums will yield plenty of good comments like: "I got it and it is so easy to burp my coolant now", "mechanics always use this in Japan", etc.
