HELP!!!! 88 turbo2 keeps back fireing loud.

Aight guys i have a an 88 turbo2 large streetport walbro 255 three inch intake and exhaust and now for the problem. When i rev it or drive it when i push the gas to the floor real slow it revs through all rpms no prob but the min i stomp it hard it bogs down and backfires like a damn rifle what is it startin to **** me off been working on this problem for a month now

besides the typical misadjusted TPS (you did check that right), backfires on decel are probably because you removed the things that the factory designed to prevent this:

1) recirculated blowoff valve
2) air pump and ACV (which has an anti afterburn valve)
3) catalytic converter

did you double check your timing?

stock injectors? stock ECU?

Yes sir and when i stab the cas i line the yellow mark up on the crank pully and the dimple with the mark on the bottom of the cas and it still does this

did you check it with a timing light afterwards though?

Just checked the tps at closed throttle it is at 1.002k ohms and wot it is 4.30k ohms

Go to harbor freight and pick up a timing light, they are pretty cheap over there.

The FSM states what the timing should be set at.

i just fixed a problem with mine bogging down really bad. It turned out that my leading coil not being grounded properly. Just an idea of what you could check

did you upgrade the fuel pressure regulator? If not the fuel pump is overloading the stock one

No i dont have a pressure regulator yet but i have an aromotive one on order with a guage and all should be here next week and where does the coils ground at

so your on the factory ecu with a 3in TID and exhaust? correct me if im wrong but it sounds like fuel cut to me.

Nah, fuel cut is more of a wall. He says it's bogging down and backfiring, I never had either of those problems when I hit fuel cut.

Ok so we got it figured out *** fuel cut and is it fuels cur when i hit fuel cut when i hit fuel cut when. i i hit four grand lose complete power at zero boost and let off throttle and back fires let me know thanks guys

Sorry my phone is gay lol so we have figured out is that fuel cut would make it fuel cut would hit it at 4 grand zero boost on gauege ane hit wall as that is what is doing now

Yeah, that's fuel cut. Although I don't know if the backfiring is from fuel cut as I never experienced that, but it may very well be.
