HELP! 88 conv. cruise module

I have an 88 conv. and can't find the cruise module. It's not where the manual says it should be, by the cpu on the left kick panel. Any ideas?

The CCU on a Convertible is located differenty. I believe it is located on the passenger side of the car and near the ECU. I could only tell this by looking at a picture a online FSM for series four.

It's on the passenger side for sure. As for being in the same spot as the ECU???? Seems to be that way by the picture.
