The trailing wires do not do anything related to power, they mostly are for emmisions. If you take off L1 or L2, the engine will barely run, and if you drop both L1 and L2, it will probably quit. The leading and trailing coils fire about 15 degrees apart, but both L1 and T1 fire on the same rotor, as do L2 and T2.

If you remove all the spark wires, the engine will not run.

I have not heard of stock intercooler failure, but I am not a turbo guy (not that I wouldn't be if I could afford it.) I am sure that it can, but you won't be making any extra power at those boost levels anyway (charge air too hot.)

The timing is down on the drivers side, right under the power steering. (See the picture below. Clockwise is advance. Loosen the little bolt (10mm head) and turn while engine is running (see attached pictures.)

To set the timing, here is the link to the Factory Service Manual:
http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory...CAL_SYSTEM.pdf
look at page 5-35 (36 in the PDF)

I hope that this helps.

I doubt that the timing needs adjustment, please follow the checking procedure first.

One thing I should mention, if you are new to this forum, please read the faq, almost every simple question is answered in it.

A bookmark to the FSM is useful (it is pretty well written.)

Also, I really like the search feature.

Welcome aboard!
