The horns are on the front crossmember, just inside the front bumper.

Yes, you can swap the oil pan gasket with the engine in the car. It's a major pain in the ***. Search my name and "oil pan gasket" for the procedure and rant.

Thumbs up

Thanks for your reply Aaron. I found the brackets the horns used to be on(thats why I couldnt find them).

I followed your directions for removing the oil pan, no problem(now I just have to find a new gasket(no dealer in my area)

I found the omp gasket and oil fitting in rear plate are leaking like crazy as well.

Ive obtained an owners manual for help with future stupid questions.

Once again thanks for your time Aaron

Cheers DT

Removing the oil pan with engine in car is not a pain in the ***. Its an easy job and there is a trick to rotating the pan so it clears and drops down.

I didn't use a gasket with my oil pan that I dropped 2 weeks ago. Instead I used Permatex Right Stuff gasket maker and it worked perfectly with no leaks or problems. NAPA auto parts sells the right stuff. I have never had a failure with the RIGHT STUFF and have used it in other cars oil pans and front covers.

It's not dealing with the pan that's the issue. It's dealing with that front row of bolts, working upside down, etc. I've done way too many, and I would rather remove the engine first.

For the average 1st timer, it's a major pain.
