OK. i have a major probelm ... basically one day i was driving home and all this smoke was coming from my engine so as soon as i get home i pop the hood and i see thats thiers hardl any coolant so i fill her up and im like ok hoepfull shes good .... and the next day i changed my thermostate and did a full coolant flush... start her up and 10 min later hes over heating again like crazy... i look at my headers beat red! do you guys have any clues to what it is .. maybe the water pump or the rad?
could be alot of things. have you been losing coolant alot? theres a good chance you overheated and lost a coolant seal, or there could be massive radiator blockage. its tough to tell. try to be systematic and diagnose whats going on
Do you see steam when you start your engine cold? If so you likely have a blown coolant seal. Other things to look at are your fan clutch and possibily your cat. Tell me this do you hear hissing when you raise the RPMs? If so you may have a clogged cat. This will cause your headers to glow red and make the engine retain heat.
