Hello Just bought my first RX-7 WOO HOO!
I have owned an MX-6 and still proud owner of a 93' Protege. I have always wanted an RX-7 my entire life, but a nice one is so hard to find especially around my area. (and expensive) Anyway just wanted to say hi to everyone and show off my new baby.
Its a 1988 GXL. Bought it off a doctor who bought it new. He was totally attached to this car and kept every single shop record. He NEVER took it anywhere except the Mazda dealer even to get oil changes. The odometer reads 101K but he had the engine rebuilt at 82K because the dealership recommended it. Thats only 19K on the rebuilt engine. Always garaged kept and only has a couple cosmetic flaws. Chipped review mirror and a couple pebble size dings on the door.
Looking forward discussing my car and any mods of "problems" I may have in the future.
Paid $2500 great deal I think.

The fun of owning an RX-7 is divided between having a quick, neat looking sports car, and learning how to work on a rotary engine. Mazda dealerships can do the work on Protege's but usually fall short when it comes to RX7's because of the rotary. Learn how the rotary works. do the work yourself. Anything you may come across, with regard to operations and troubleshooting has been discussed on this forum.

Finally, congratulations on becoming a member of a great fraternity, that of RX7 owners. But beware! The RX7 is instantly addictive.

I now pronounce you Man, and 7. you may now kiss your paychecks goodbye
just playin man, enjoy it. and i'd say you got a really good deal on it too. just dont fall behind on the routine maintenance. its the people that let that happen that say owning an rx-7 is extremely expensive
