Should i even bother? he said it only drives a few miles before it over heats, and needs to be fixed.... any suggestions... how hard to fix??

i see 2 reasons y you shouldn't by this car..

1 your thinking of using it as a winter beater?? oh that's a great idea(NOT)

2 the Rotor head is leaking coolant? hihi..

3 neither you nor the previouse owner know what your talking about and i don't think either of you are gonna put the time in to learn .... (rotor head??) so just leave it for someone that wants that RX as a summer car and has either the knowledge or will and time to fix it up nicely

lol sorry for the bit of a rude welcoming but this is a kind of post i wasn't expecting

Rotor head??

Frankly, your a bunch of weird people. Don't drive you car in the winter? The RX-7 is an all weather car.

But, yes. That car is broken. It will take close to 1000 to 1500 bucks to fix it yourself. Now that is a good winter project! If you buy it, don't pay more than 500 to 700 tops. That's all it's worth. I'd lean toward the 500 buck mark.
