Heating Problems...
I have posted a while ago about having some problems with my 1987 FC n/a over heating, I went out and got a new radiator for it because the last one was clogged and had a hole in it plus a new water pump. My problem is that it still hits high temperatures when im driving. I wanted to ask if anyone here had the same problems and what I could do to fix it.
My other problem is when I start the car up cold it will idle but the moment I take off and then begin to slow down it dies. I was told that the valve that traps the air to warm it could be open and not closing or it could be that its not getting enough fuel. After the needle on the thermostat is above the two lines for the C it is able to stay on even after I slow down or come to a stop. Has anyone had a problem like this? I was told that I would need a new motor but I dont exactly have the money to go out and get a $2K motor swap for this nor to I have time/experties/experience to put a new one in. Does anyone know how I could fix this?

I assumer you replaced the thermostat as well?
If so i assume the last thing it could be is the engine is colleg(<- that was supposed to be clogged, i dont know how i typed that) as the radiator was, I'm sure there is a way to clean it without taking it apart, Have you tried using the radiator flush stuff?

What should I do to clean my engine?

id recommend only an OEM thermostat as you have said....
first things first
is the underbelly panel still on the car? and are you sure the fan clutch engages when hot?
it shouldnt take much to cool an na engine
