Question heater problem

ok.... i dont know if it is normal but when I turn the heater on without turning the fan on, I can feel the warm air slowly coming out of the vents. Its used to be that when i turned the fan on with the heater on that hot air came out, lately hot air hasnt been coming out as soon as i turn the fan on. Any thoughts??

The heat from the heatercore can get into your vents if you drive without the recirculation on, even if its off you will still have heat comming out of the vents, this isnt rx-7 specific it does on allmost any car.

You will get ambient air in through the outside vent, if driving slow, or an under 35MPH you could be drawing warm air from the engine area if your rear engine/hood seal is missing of damaged. Or from the warm hood itself.

It is normal (as Kim mentioned) to have some warm air coming in all cars with windsheild intakes (like the FC/FD). The blower on just pulls more air through which makes the air flow seem cooler.

If you are convinced that it is a problem with the car (which I doubt from your description) check the air mix motor (above the gas pedal) operation.
