heater hose coolant leak

Well I finally got my car back from a guy that ripped me off (long story) and now it boosts (only at 4 psi because of crap copper gaskets, changing to oem this weekend) but now I have heating issues. well the car was sitting at this guys house for 4 or 5 moths while he constanly lied to me saying he was fixing it, anyways long story short I got fed up and went to go get it, drove it home and checked coolant levels and oil levels as one of the things this jack off did was change the turbo out with another one I got. Anways all the levels looked fine so I took it for a test drive and yes it boosted but now it started to over heat (got to a little over half on guage) well I don't normally get it anywhere close to that level so I shut it down. I emidiatly (sp) saw coolant leaking from the drivers side under the oil filter witch after searching seems to be a very common heater hose problem. So I am going to check that and get a new one from mazda as they would probably be the best anyways my question is before doing a search I descided to take the fan shroud, fan, water pump off so I am going to replace it. Now I am faced with just replacing everything even the radiator, would you guys go with the direct replacement for 139 or should I get the koyo for 289? Also how hard is it to change out that heater hose? Thanks.

heater hose isn't hard- couple of clamps and some scratches on your hands...about $30 from Mazda/ Mazdatrix...if it's a street car just go with an aftermarket rad ('bout $260 from Mazdatrix & others)- I don't race it for a living, and the new rad takes all the heat I can push at it on the street when I feel "spirited"...
BTW- get ya some black RTV and put a good layer over the first 5" or so of the hose at the engine outlet side- you'll never have to worry about the oil soaking it again...

rtv? Well On absoluteradiator.com I can get a koyo for about 295 so I think i will go with that for only a couple bucks more. Anyways I just priced out the entire cooling system including:

radiator : koyo
upper and lower radiator hose
thermostat
water pump
heater hose

came to around 395 with shipping. not to bad.

Anyways they have the heater hose at advanced auto parts that goes from the engine to the throttle boddy. Is that the right one? The one that is under the oil filter goes to the firewall.

don't get your hoses confused-
1) upper rad hose
2)lower rad hose
3)lower heater hose (from rad to heater pipe)
4)right side heater hose (from heater to pipe)
5)left side heater hose (the one that blows frequently)
6)water pump housing to BAC (small coolant hose)
7)BAC to throttle body (thermo wax, 'nother small one)
8)throttle body to rear housing (small one)
there ya go, 8 hoses- make sure you're getting the right one (if it's around $25-30, that'll be the left heater hose, all the rest of 'em are far cheaper)
