Do the icons above each selection (location) light up? Mine don't. So I have no idea if I'm hitting defrost, or feet, or whatever... I know where A/C and Recirc are.. so thats not a big deal.. but they don't light up and it seems like they should.

Do I have a bulb or two out?

^^^nice. i had a similar question about the illumination and this pic answered it. however, the indicator lights should light up when you select an air directional setting as to the direction you want the air to go. feet. feet and face. defrost, etc... the actual position picture wont light up indicating the position but the indicator light for its position will.

AHH! That means I have a burned bulb... If I remember correctly there are 2... I wonder if I have a spare from back in the day.

the logicon lights use special bulbs. they are available at radio shack. the part number is:272-1092

 

Well, this puts my mind at ease a little.. just looked in my garage.. I have like 4 extra bulbs. Can't remember how or when I got them... but I have them.. so I'm going to swap those in when I do my stereo today. w00t!

I kept looking at my dash and thinking "Were my last 4 RX-7's like this? I don't remember it being this annoying".
