The only thing I can really think of to help you out with that would be to purchase an RE Amemiya hood, but that's some serious $$$. You can check it out at Rotary Performance but I don't think the ambient temperature in your engine bay will have an adverse effect on your engine's performance as long as your cooling system is up to par. Not sure about it, just my opinion.

some people shim the hood so that the part near the windshield sits a little higher then the fenders. Some people say it looks tacky, but from in the car, you can see the heat rolling out when you are sitting still. It looks just like it does when you look at the street on a hot day and you can see the heat waving up into the sky

danger will robinson, danger...

Only shim the hood if you are willing to die in a frontal impact.

In a frontal impact, the hood gets slammed back.

If it is raised and the factory stops are not in the correct place the hood travels back through the windsheild.

Check out one of our hoods and how it fits when closed. There is a lip on the top of the firewall, (actually just in front of the middle wiper) that will lock the extended lowered part of the hood re-enforcement, and from the whole hood from traveling backwards in the event of a front end collison.

So raising the hood up in the rear, that lip becomes useless, and will not prevent the hood from traveling through the windsheild.
