Heat shields with custom exhaust

So do the stock heatshields go back on with a custom exhaust or are they left off?

since it seems they ar all pretty specific around the exhaust.

well, what kind of exhaust are you thinking to go with? if just a header, I do believe that you can keep the shields on the car, but ditch the actual pipe shields.
