heat, completely gone, WTF?

on my way home this evening, i passed a bank and the temerature read to be 13 degrees farenhiet. in my head i'm thinking," damn glad to be drivin a super hot rotary." a few miles down the road, i noticed that it was starting to get very cold in the car, and sure enough, it was blasting very cold air. i dont really know where to begin with this one, never really seen too much talk about losing heat or problems with the heater core? any ideas where i should start. not having heat isn't really a bug deal now. i only drive the car about every couple of weekends. i love coming home from college for the weekend knowing that i have a 7 waiting for me in the driveway!! thats the best, but maybe with some heat?

Maybe chack the air-mix motor.I believe it controls the air being directed over the heater core as well as the location it comes out.

Go to your car. Turn the key to ON. Now move the temp lever from cold to hot and back. Did you hear the air mix motor whirr while moving the lever back and forth. If not, concentrate on the logicon and the airmix motor.

It's not difficult to hear that motor. So don't strain yourself trying to hear it. Its moving or its not moving.

If it is the Logicon, I will have rebuilt ones back in stock next week, and mazdaformance has the best price on air mix motors:
