Heads up display

And it wouldn't help the drive of your car one bit. But don't newer Corvettes have a heads up display, standard? That is, it's a windshield projector if I understand correctly. But are there aftermarket ones avaliable?

They display all your gauges and meters on the windshield. Maybe it's distracting, but I'd like to see it in the first place.

Wouldn't it be kind of annoying? Or does it not reflect much to hurt your eyes? I think the gauges are just fine for me check out carparts.com

I have seen one on the new C5 (family member has a 2002 w/ every option but ZO6), and it is VERY nice. Makes driving at night more fun!!

Hey, HUD's don't seem to distract F15 pilots from what they're doing.

Node, I really like that avatar for some reason!

But are there any that display more than just one gauge at a time?

Crasher, I would love to see what you've seen on the web about these things. Rico was talkin' about some that display multiple gauges and those would be what I seriously want bad. Anyone with any links, please post

I wonder if it requires anything special other than the projector itself, such as a film on the glass or something. I think the hardest part would be getting it to display correctly, that sounds like a wiring nightmare to me!

Wrong!!
The purpose of heads up display is to keep looking out the window for traffic (ENEMY FIGHTERS) while maintaining proper watch on aircraft systems.
It is a great thing, trust me!

That and, if they aren't visible it helps to show where they are hiding right before they blow you out of the sky Does anyone know if they make a model that could be ran through a laptop, or computer, or standalone that would work with any car?

I think there are ones that work with Haltechs, or such EMSs that hook up to a laptop anyway.

But that F4 heads up display is so great because it must have come from the early fifties.

Meanwhile, my search continues

I guess you've never seen 4 F-15s flying in formation, 5 feet wingtip to cockpit.

One of my F-body buddies picked up that Defi piece, and he won't drive a car on the track without it now.
