Headlight Retractor Problem
Hi all-
My '91 vert has a strange problem. The right front headlight goes up and down constantly even with the key out. I pulled out the retractor fuse to stop it. Also the headlights don't work.
The fogs and parking lights work fine. This all started after the battery died recently. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave W.

The right one keeps going up and down (winking) and the left one comes up and stays up like it's supposed to. I'm guessing it's a ground problem but I'm not sure where to start.
Thanks,

I'm having a similiar prob with my 91 vert. My lights come on, but they won't pop up. I had removed the fuse from under the hood, because when its in they only stay up, cant go down. I manually rolled them down and put the fuse in, and they just pop right back. I made sure the ***** were in off/down positions before I did it. I thnik maybe the switch itself is bad.

Hey all-
I fixed it and just wanted to post how I did it.
When the battery died it actually cracked...I guess it exploded. Didn't know that at first but there's a crack down the side.
The passenger side light was going up and down (winking) and the headlights didn't work. Brights worked fine.
Replacing both headlights fixed the low beam problem...I guess the exploding battery blew them out. The winking headlight was fixed by replacing the retractor motor...it apparently had a short.
Thanks
