my headlight are not working any more im not sure if its the switch or the relay i think its the relay but not sure the light do not put up when the realy is in but if i take if off the light pop up but dont work can anyone tell me how the check the problem

The early 86 are a bit different than later models in that they have a Retract relay mounted near each of the light assy. If one of those is bad, that would effect whether they come up or not.

So. WHAT relay are you pulling/putting in?????? If one of the retract relays was kaput, and only one of the two, then only one light would be effected. As in one up, one down when the the lights get turned on.

It's difficult to figure out what your problem is. Is the problem that the lights come up, but the lights won't light up? Or something else?

When the headlights are up and not shining, can you pull the dimmer lever and see if they come on now. Yes. Try that.
