Headlight pop up issue (yes i used the search)

ok so i got into a little fender bender earlier this week. the damage was only minor and only mucked up the front of my fender. i tried the headlights and the drivers side head light was jammed (the side the accident was on)

so today i got the fender off and saw there was a healthy obstruction of metal in the way. bent that **** out of the way and tried again. the headlight went up down then stopped at sleepy eye, when flipped to up. then did the same when flipped to down.

i unplugged the motor so i could try to manually adjust the bottom screw to drop it down in hopes this would reset it when plugged back in. when i plugged it back in, sadly, the headlight wont even move. i tried moving the screw while plugged in and it started spinning and moved the headlight a bit. any ideas?

thanks guys!

is the arm connecting the motor to the headlight connected on both ends ? if one of the ends fell off it will cause the light not to move at all.

ive honestly had a problem with my headlights before on my old fc, so i had to prop up one of the headlights, one light would go up the other would go down, was pretty weird.

that is why I am thinking that the motor thinks that it should stop where it is.
Can you get your hands on another good working retractor motor?
