headlight not working need help ASAP
the other day i was changing my oil on my 1988 t2 and when i got done it was semi dark so i went to go home and when i went to turn my lights on on only the drivers side went up... i looked and i thought mayb my motor went out. so i preceded to take everything out to change it.. i had an extra from my N/A.. finally i got it in about an hour ago and now it still isnt going up.... wats the problem? do u think the shaft that attaches to motor is bent? the shaft on the 14mm screw on right side of the motor. any suggestions? o and after i turn my headlights off like im testing them it makes a noise.... like i can hear it workin afterwards but not when i flip the switch... please help any suggestions greatly appreciated

Lets start the debugging process.
We can assume its not a programming error so lets skip to mechanical.
Step 1). Remove the lifter motor fuse in the main fuse box under the hood.
Step 2). Get down in front of the car on the side of the malfunctioning headlight
Step 3). Locate the lifter motor
Step 4). Locate the **** on the bottom of the motor
Step 5). Manually turn the ****
If the Headlight moves then its an electrical problem if not then its a mechanical problem.
Mechanical diagnosis:
Check and compare both headlight mechanisms trying to locate differences and possible binding points. When and If you can find them try to repair them.
Electrical diagnosis:
We can rule out that the fuse is the problem since the other headlight works. Check the wiring going to the motor and and from the motor to the connectors and such. Keep an eye out for frays loose connections or cut/missing wires.
