Okay, I just went out and looked at it... Instead of cutting it, just remove it, and drill another hole in it for the push-rod ball joint to connect to... that way you can put it back to stock if you ever sell it or what not.

it's not quite as easy as just drilling one hole. You need to move the pivot point of the motor arm closer to the motor, and then you also need to lengthen the linkage arm that goes from the headlight assembly to the motor linkage. That will give you a shorter throw with faster pop-up speed.

Thats exactly what drilling another hole would do.... Keep in mind. I meant drilling another hole in the ARM.. not the linkage.

I've tried something similar... and it almost fucked up my light. You need to do more than just drill a whole. The rod is pushed up by the motor and the motor pushes and pulls the exact distance the light needs to go up or down. If you shorten the rod or drill another hole in the rod the motor will get stuck when pulling the light closed because it can no longer pull down the distance that it did... atleast that's what happend to me. Just look at it.
