headers and emissions testing

I was planning on putting a RB header on my '88 GXL but I wondered how you guys that have to pass emissions tests manage to pass the visual inspection (most jurisdictions prohibit alterations to exhaust systems from forward of the cats). Also has anyone removed the two pre-cats on a 2nd gen NA and what is your seat of the pants feel on how this has increased power? Just wondering because here in Ontario, Canada we have to pass emissions every 2 yrs and I don't want to have to remove the system every 2 yrs and then remount it a week later.

Before I added the blower, I upgraded my exhaust to a header, single high flow cat and cat back. I was able to pass emissions no problem, but they never did a "visual" inspection.

We have emissions each and every year here in Ft Worth. Each and every year I take a day to remove and replace the exaust systen from header to tail pipe. Never did the header alone. A header and the addition of the presilencer does make quite a diff in the seat of the pants. The header and a highflow cat sounds like it should make a diff. Don't know from personal experience.
