if you buy the RB header AND pre silencer it will bolt right up to the stock Y pipe.

Thanks, thats good to know. I was hoping for something without a silencer.

Please dont be afraid to list shitty options, I just need to know whats out there. So far all I can find that are still around is Pacesetter and RB.

Rotary Performance also produced the Bonez cat, which they have a model that fits into the shorter RB length.

Pacesetter or OBX.

There is also SDJ and Defined Autoworks, but those are made to be custom after the header (no flanges or etc).

thanks for the responses everyone. I guess I'm leaning towards pacesetter since I believe that is whats on the car.

I had a Pacesetter on my old N/A turned TII.
For the price and over all construction,it wasn't a bad thing to toss on.
A tube was installed right at the collected portion to give the Split air pipe a hook up(S4).

Remember anything that gets rid of the 25 pound cast iron N/A exhaust manifold ..is a GOOD Thing!

Im not opposed to getting one. I think whats on it is a pace setter. Its def not stock, and its rotted. So I need to replace it.

Headers that look like this, I need another part with them right? My headers right now go straight to a catalytic converter (hollowed out though)

O2 sensor. If your check engine light isn't always on they must've put it somewhere else on your car.

I have a CorkSport shorty header (I believe it is now discontinued) that replaced the exhaust manifold and pre-cat on my S5. It bolts up to a cat back when used with a replacement main cat, such as the Catco that I used.

The pictures show the large and heavy stock S5 pre- and main cat assembly, the much lighter weight Catco 49 state replacement pre- and main cat assembly (down pipe wrapped with DEI Titanium header wrap) bolted to the stock S5 exhaust manifold and the last is the even lighter weight setup consisting of the CorkSport shorty header (again wrapped with DEI Titanium header wrap) with Catco 49 state main cat only. These all bolt up to the stock or stock replacement type cat-back exhaust systems.

This is my exact setup. Except my header rotted out where the 2 pipes meet. I need a header like this.

Buy an OBX header. If you don't need the 02 provision, buy an 02 bung plug.

looks close to the rb street "collected" header. I am running that to a cat with the front extended a couple inches to mate with the header. I widened the pipe a tad while I was at it and cut/welded/widened the beginning of the y pipe. Works great, and cheap.

I think this is the old RB street header that bolted up to the main cat;

86-92 N/A Rx7 Racing Beat Streetable Header...

I don't that specific header or p/n on the RB website anymore.

Streetable Header for 86-92 RX-7 NT - Racing Beat

I asked them if It would bolt up to the main cat and they said no I need the presilencer, but I dont see how. It looks like it would.

they purposely make the length of the header so it will not work with the main cat, so that you buy there center section

I bought the RB Streetable header and it worked great with the Bonez High Flow Cat . It bolted right up to the stock Y-pipe without modification.

Bonez makes a cat that's already cut/fit to length.

"For 1986-91 RX-7 owners who already have a Racing Beat header/ presilencer system on your car but need to pass emissions testing or want to reduce the noise and rotary "smell". This converter is the perfect way to return your FC to emissions pass-ability, a nice exhaust note and less "odor". This Bönez catalytic converter is an exact bolt in replacement for the Racing Beat presilencer."
